
Saeed Marzouk
Directing
An Egyptian director and writer, born in 1940 into a poor family. He worked on European radio, and was also interested in music, so he worked in preparing musical programs, then worked on Egyptian television, directing the song Ballad, then he wrote and directed the movie Enemies of Freedom, with which he participated at the Leipzig Festival in Germany and won the second prize. After that, he made the movie Drums, for which he won the State Prize in directing, cinematography and editing that year. In 1971, he directed his first feature film, My Wife and the Dog. He also directed a number of series, such as Ibn Sina, and The Falcon of Quraysh. He passed away in September 2014 at the age of 74.
