Born in 1990 in Avignon, ClĂ©lia Schaeffer graduated from the Image Department of La FĂ©mis. She works as a cinematographer and director in both documentary and fiction. In 2016, her short film Le Printemps was selected for the national competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival. In 2018, she directed Vie scolaire, a 52-minute documentary produced by Les BateliĂšres Productions and LCP AssemblĂ©e Nationale, which was selected for the International Festival of Educational Film. In 2020, her short film Dix ans was selected by several festivals, including CĂŽtĂ© Court in Pantin, Paris Courts Devant, the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in Germany, and the Women Filmâs Festival in Portugal. In 2022, she directed Devenir gardien de la paix, a four-episode documentary series (26 minutes each) on police training. Produced by Morgane Production, the series will be broadcast on France 5 in 2023. That same year, she directed Sortir de lâombre, a documentary on the reintegration journey of former inmates, produced by Les BateliĂšres Productions.
