Caleb Wild
Directing
Caleb Wild is a writer and director based in New York City. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Wild began his creative journey as an actor, appearing in commercials before discovering a deeper passion for storytelling behind the camera. At just 16, he created his first short film for a school competitionâan experience that cemented his commitment to filmmaking. Largely self-taught, Caleb honed his craft through hands-on projects, independent study, and a strong cinematic intuition shaped by watching films and experimenting with visual storytelling. His award-winning directorial debut, Cycle (2016), presented in Competition at the 4th Y-CAM Film Festival, is a 10-minute emotionally charged drama, thematically grounded, that draws inspiration from Wildâs personal connection to social work through his motherâs career in the field. Calebâs work reflects a deep interest in telling emotionally resonant stories that explore themes of identity, belonging, and personal transformation. Following Cycle, he began work on a thriller short, a documentary, and a feature screenplay, and has contributed as a script researcher on a project for A24. Caleb Wild continues to develop new projects with the aim of crafting cinema that leaves both an emotional and intellectual impact.
