
Gamalat Zayed
Acting
An Egyptian actress, she was born in February 1919 in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo, into an artistic family, as she was the sister of actress Amal Zayed. She began her acting career on the radio, and became famous for her role as "Umm Bunduq" in the TV series "Sa'at Li Qalbak" (An Hour for Your Heart) and for her role as "Umm Ali" in the radio series "Aylet Marzouq Effendi". Her cinematic career began in 1945 in the film "Casino Al Latafa" (Casino of Kindness) with Mohamed Abdel Mutalib and Samia Gamal. She then starred in the film "She Was an Angel" (1947) with Mary Queeny, Faten Hamama, and Yehia Chahine. Her work continued after that, most notably: "Women Don't Know How to Lie," "My Wife's Groom," and "The Secret of the Invisibility Cap."
